Frequently Asked Questions
Do I really need counseling?
A misconception about counseling is only “crazy people” do it. This could not be further from the truth. It takes someone with strong self-awareness to seek help to address issues that are negatively impacting them. If you have tried do-it-yourself solutions and time has passed with little to no improvement, then it would be beneficial to bring in a well-equipped ally in the form of a counselor.
How long will it be until I feel better?
There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan that definitively guarantees to resolve your issues within a specific number of sessions. I will meet you where you are mentally and emotionally in every session. We will progress through the therapy interventions at a productive and emotionally safe pace for you.
What will happen during our sessions?
All services are currently offered via teletherapy (secure online video conference). I foster a laid-back and nonjudgmental space where you can share as much or as little as you have the mental capacity for on any given day. Feel free to explore everything from simple concepts to your innermost challenging thoughts regarding the goals you set forth at the start of treatment. I will actively listen, share insight, strategies and hold you accountable for the work you agreed to put in, so that you can experience positive change.
Do you accept my insurance? Do I have to have insurance?
I do not accept insurnace at this time.
How much will it cost me?
> If I’m in-network with your insurance: Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card to confirm your behavioral health benefits, deductible and co-payment.
> If I’m out of network with your insurance or you have no insurance, you would pay the following out-of-pocket rates: $120 | 60-minute Initial Assessment. This is also called a “Diagnostic Evaluation” and is required for the first appointment. $90 | 50-minute Counseling Session
* All services are currently offered via teletherapy (secure online video conference).
